Ding was born in Hong Kong and began playing golf at the age of 4 as a way to have fun and be active. She began to play competitively at the age of 10. She qualified for the Hong Kong National Team at the age of 14 and played many tournaments in Asia representing Hong Kong. Ginnie attended Vanderbilt University and won 4 team events. She also won the 2023 Women's Orlando International Am.
